      Toys for Tots drive will begin Nov. 27
            The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) will collect new, unwrapped toys for its Toys for Tots program every Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 27-Dec. 20, next to the Santa Claus display at the Menlo Park Mall, Edison.       LBWP fundraiser Dec. 3 at playhouse
            The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership (LBWP) Inc. will hold a fundraiser at the performance of the play, "A Moon to Dance By" starring Jane Alexander Dec. 3 at George Street Playhouse, 9 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. A wine and cheese reception will be held at 7 p.m. followed by the play at 8 p.m. Tickets are $38 each, with partial proceeds benefiting LBWP.

      K of C's 'Pictures With Santa,' Dec. 6
            St. Augustine Council No. 6345 Knights of Columbus (K of C) will host its annual "Pictures With Santa," from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at St. Augustine School, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. The Columbiettes will also sponsor a bake sale at the event. Family pictures with Santa are $20 per family, which includes all images on a CD, and one sheet of pictures.

      H1N1 consent forms available at library
            Residents with appointments to attend the Middlesex County Public Health Department's H1N1-vaccine clinics may obtain a consent form at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center. The county will provide the H1N1 nasal spray and injectible vaccines 1-3 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays, at the public-health clinic at 596 Jersey Ave., Suite B, New Brunswick.

            The South Brunswick Public Library is holding "Make Waves at Your Library," a poster contest for summer reading, Dec. 1 - March 30 for students grade six through 12. The winning poster will be used for the library's Teen Summer Reading Program for summer 2010.

      S.B. receives $150,415 New Jersey DEP grant
            South Brunswick Township has received a recycling tonnage grant for $150,415 from the State Department of Environmental Protection. The grant was given to the Township based on the amount of material that was recycled annually by residents, businesses, industries, schools and other institutions.

            The Dayton Village Citizens Coalition will hold its seventh annual holiday lighting 4-5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the park next to La Taverna, 375 Georges Road, Dayton section of South Brunswick. Scouts will hang natural ornaments they have made beginning at 4 p.m., and singing begins at 4:30 p.m. A special guest will arrive to greet children and to hand out candies.

            South Brunswick Library Friends of the Library will sponsor a holiday open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. It will feature live music, a toy and game sale and refreshments. A digital camera class will be held 7-8:45 p.m. Dec. 7, Jan. 4 and Feb. 1. The class is for adults who already own a point-and-shoot digital camera.
