SOUTH BRUNSWICK — If you are looking for new music this summer, local artist Mike Browne, known in the music world as Jayden, thinks he has the answer.
The up-and-coming singer/songwriter recently released his new album, “A Year in the Life.” As the title suggests, the rhythm & blues album chronicles a year in Jayden’s life. He explained that as events happened to him, he wrote about them.
The former South Brunswick resident has always loved writing and began writing poetry when he was around 5 years old.
“It was kind of my secret,” he said.
But it was not until he was much older that he realized he could turn his love of writing into a musical career.
“I didn’t really know I could sing until I was 16,” Jayden said.
Jayden decided to follow his passion and chose music as his career path.
“After I recorded my first song, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
His honest lyrics and relevant content set him apart from other artists, he said.
“I’m really relatable,” Jayden said. “I don’t fabricate music. When you listen, you get to know me. I market it as real music. I’m proud if it.”
Jayden is responsible for writing his entire album and is inspired by artists such Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Boyz II Men.
He is starting rehearsal now for his tour that will take off in the near future. The tour will begin on the East Coast and move out west.
His album is currently available for purchase on iTunes and at jaydenmusic.com.
