Earth Day every day: Top: South Brunswick Environmental Commission Chairman Dan Van Abs tries to pull a plastic bottle from the Heathcote Brook at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association’s fifth annual stream cleanup at the Noor Ul-Iman School in South Brunswick on April 10. Van Abs was among 23 volunteers who worked to haul 71 bags of trash weighing in at 916 pounds from the stream area, nearby schoolyard and detention basin behind the neighboring Target shopping center.
